Can I control the problem myself?

However, roofs still need real care: working at height is genuinely dangerous without the right gear, and chemical treatments need to be matched to the surface (metal roofing, tile, concrete, or timber all respond differently) to avoid staining or damage. Look for a treatment that's free of chlorine bleach, corrosive salts, and phosphates if pets, plants, or family will be nearby.
